Treevoxa is a software development company for Singapore businesses and SaaS founders who want a capable remote team: web and mobile applications, business systems such as ERP and CRM, SaaS products and APIs. We plan for the Personal Data Protection Act from the first week, and we share most of your afternoon. Compare us with other software development companies in Singapore and abroad on live software, not on pitches.
We have no office or company in Singapore and will not imply one. We work remotely, quote in writing, and put the ownership of the code in the contract.
What we build for Singapore companies
- SaaS products, for founders building the next generation of Singapore SaaS companies: sign-up, plans, billing, tenants and admin. See SaaS product development and MVP development.
- Mobile apps for customers and staff, in React Native. See mobile app development.
- Business systems: ERP, CRM, inventory and HR, built around your process. See ERP software development.
- APIs and integrations with payment gateways, accounting software and logistics partners. See API development services.
Proof you can click through: PharmaFlow runs a React point of sale, an online store and supplier ordering on one stock record; MatrixHR runs HR and payroll on NestJS with an Expo mobile app. Both are live with free trials.
Mobile app development for Singapore users
Singapore users expect apps that are fast, clear and secure. We build business apps in React Native with Expo: one code base, an iOS app and an Android app, published under your own developer accounts. Sign-in uses tokens rather than stored passwords, sensitive data is kept in secure storage on the device, and the app talks to a documented API that your web app shares.
The PDPA and outsourcing
The Personal Data Protection Act 2012 (PDPA) governs how organisations collect, use and disclose personal data in Singapore, and the Personal Data Protection Commission (PDPC) administers it. When you outsource development, three of its obligations shape the project:
- Data intermediaries. When we process personal data on your behalf, we act as your data intermediary. You remain responsible for that data, so the agreement sets out what we may do with it and how we protect it.
- Transfer limitation. Our team works outside Singapore. The PDPA requires personal data transferred overseas to receive a standard of protection comparable to the PDPA's, which our agreement is written to provide.
- Data breach notification. Notifiable data breaches must be assessed and, where required, reported to the PDPC and affected individuals. Our agreement sets out how quickly we tell you about any incident.
We build and test with anonymised or synthetic data wherever possible, so real personal data rarely leaves your environment. This is not legal advice; confirm how the PDPA applies to you with your adviser.
Working hours: your afternoon
Singapore Standard Time is UTC+8, three hours ahead of our working day, with no daylight saving to shift it. The overlap falls across most of your afternoon:
- a stand-up early in your afternoon, with the whole team online;
- reviews and decisions before you leave the office;
- work continuing into your evening, with a written summary waiting the next morning.
Contracts, currency and payment terms for Singapore companies
- Currency. We quote and invoice in US dollars; your bank handles the conversion from Singapore dollars.
- Fixed-scope projects are paid per milestone, each tied to working software on a staging site.
- Dedicated developers are billed monthly. See hire dedicated developers.
- GST. How GST applies to services bought from overseas is a question for your accountant; we provide the invoice detail they need.
- Ownership. Code, designs and data are yours once the agreed payments are made.
What custom software costs for Singapore companies
Our software developer hourly rates page compares published agency rates by region, and our custom software development cost guide explains what drives a project's price. We quote in US dollars, in writing, once the scope is clear.
How a Singapore project starts
- Brief: the problem, the users, today's tools and any deadline.
- Discovery call in your afternoon, with the engineers who will build it.
- Written scope, quote and data handling terms.
- Working software on a staging site early, reviewed every one or two weeks.
